Thunder Trade Sengun for Future First-Round Picks

Oklahoma City Continues Rebuild

Sengun Departs, Hayward and Oladipo Arrive

The Oklahoma City Thunder have made a significant move in the lead-up to the NBA's trade deadline, trading their No. 16 pick, Alperen Sengun, to the Houston Rockets in exchange for future first-round picks.

The move comes as part of the Thunder's ongoing rebuilding process, which has seen them acquire numerous draft assets in recent years. Sengun, a talented 19-year-old center, was considered one of the most promising prospects in this year's draft.

However, the Thunder have opted to prioritize their long-term future by trading Sengun and adding to their stockpile of picks. The Rockets, on the other hand, are hoping that Sengun can provide a much-needed boost to their young roster.

In addition to the Sengun trade, the Thunder also made a pair of other deals on Thursday. They acquired Gordon Hayward from the Charlotte Hornets and Victor Oladipo from the Miami Heat, while sending out draft compensation in return.

Hayward, a 33-year-old forward, brings a wealth of experience to Oklahoma City. He has been a two-time NBA All-Star and has averaged over 15 points per game throughout his career.

Oladipo, a 31-year-old guard, is a former All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year candidate. He has been plagued by injuries in recent years, but the Thunder are hoping he can regain his former form and provide a boost to their backcourt.

With the trade deadline rapidly approaching, the Thunder are expected to continue to be active in the rumor mill. They are reportedly looking to add another veteran player to their roster and could potentially make another deal before the deadline.
