16 Teams Advance to the Playoffs
The excitement is building as the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs approach. The regular season is winding down, and the NHL's 32 teams have been narrowed down to just 16, who will battle for Lord Stanley's trophy.The playoffs will commence in April, with the bracket and playoff picture set after the regular season finales. The top three teams from each of the four divisions will automatically qualify for the playoffs, along with two wild-card teams from each conference.
The Washington Capitals were the last team to secure a playoff spot, claiming the final wild-card berth in the Eastern Conference on Tuesday night. The remaining playoff teams include the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, and New York Rangers in the East, as well as the Colorado Avalanche, Edmonton Oilers, and Winnipeg Jets in the West.
